Stock comes in two ways: cards you buy from customers, and cards that arrive some other way, such as opening stock.

## How purchased cards become stock

Purchased cards are added to inventory when you record acceptance of the final quote and **Create stock and payout**. Each card becomes its own unit and is placed on the site's **Receiving** shelf. At this point the unit is **Awaiting receipt**. Once the payout's receipt is confirmed, it can be shipped out or moved.

Track purchased cards under **Inventory** › **Movements** › **Receipts**. The page is grouped by customer and has four tabs.

| Tab | What's in it |
| ---------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Incoming | Parcels the customer has sent that haven't arrived yet |
| Awaiting receipt | Cards that have arrived but aren't purchased yet, or whose payout receipt isn't confirmed |
| To receive | Receipt confirmed, but not yet labeled or put away |
| Received | Labeled and put away on a storage shelf |

Filter by **Arrival date** or **Not shipped only**, and sort **By customer** or **Newest**.

### Print QR labels

On the Receipts page, select cards and click **Print QR labels** to print stock labels. On the **To receive** tab, unlabeled cards are selected for you. You can print labels for cards still awaiting receipt, so you can put them away while you wait. Printing and putaway are covered in [Putaway and QR labels](/en/guides/inventory/putaway).

## Record stock that didn't come from a purchase

Use a receipt slip for cards that came in some other way, such as opening stock or a delivery from a supplier.

1. **Start a receipt slip**

Under **Inventory** › **Movements**, open **Receipt slips** and click
    **Receive stock**.

2. **Enter the receipt details**

Choose a **Type**: **Opening stock**, **Found in stock count** or **Other**.
Check the **Shelf**, **Receipt date** and **Cost currency**, and enter a
**Source or reason**. You can also pick a reason from the suggestions.

3. **Add the cards**

Click **Add card**, choose a card from the card catalog, and enter the
**Quantity** and **Cost per unit**. Enter 0 if there's no cost. Add a grade,
certification number or condition note if needed.

4. **Review and confirm**

Click **Review**, check the details, then click **Receive stock**. Each card
becomes its own unit and goes straight into stock.

A receipt slip can hold up to 100 lines and 500 units in total. A certification number can only be entered on a line with a quantity of 1 and a third-party grade. Cards that aren't in the card catalog can't be received.

After receiving, print stock labels from **Print labels** on the receipt slip and move on to putaway.

:::warning
Receipts can't be edited or deleted later. To take out units received by mistake, use an outbound order with the purpose set to **Correction**. Outbound orders are covered in [Outbound, transfers and handovers](/en/guides/inventory/outbound-and-transfers).
