Putaway and QR labels

How to print stock labels, put cards away with the iPhone putaway app, and check putaway progress.

Putaway means putting a QR label on a card sitting in Receiving and placing it on a storage shelf. You print labels in the console and record the putaway with the iPhone putaway app.

There are two kinds of label. A stock label goes on each card, one per card. A shelf label goes on each shelf.

You can print stock labels from a purchase case, the Receipts page, a receipt slip, units selected in the Inventory list, or a unit’s page. Wherever you start, the same Print stock labels dialog opens.

Choose the label sheet

Under Label sheet, choose A4, 65 per sheet for cards, or A4, 24 per sheet for boxes and other products. The 65-label sheet matches A-One 64265, 28974 and sheets of the same size.

Set the start position and order

When printing on a partly used sheet, set Start position to the label to start from. You can also click a cell in the preview. Sort order can be line order, asset number, card number, card name or shelf.

Create the PDF and print

Click Create PDF, open the PDF and print it. Always print at Actual size (100%).

Each print run is saved as a print batch. You can check each batch’s putaway progress later on the Putaway tab.

Line up the labels

If the print doesn’t line up with the label sheet, adjust it under Settings › Label printing. For each sheet type, move Offset X and Offset Y in 0.1 mm steps, up to ±3.0 mm. Click Print test sheet, read the scale on the printout, and enter how far off it is.

Print shelf labels from Print shelf labels under Settings › Locations. They use A4 24-label sheets. Scanning a shelf label in the putaway app switches the shelf you’re putting cards onto.

Put cards away with the app

The putaway app, トレカクラウド 格納 (Toreca Cloud Putaway), reads stock label and shelf label QR codes on an iPhone. Each staff member signs in with their own Toreca Cloud account. Members with permission to change inventory can use it. The app’s screens are in Japanese; the button names below are given in Japanese with their meaning.

Start putaway

On the 作業 (Work) tab, check the site and tap 格納を始める (Start putaway).

Scan the shelf label

Scan the shelf label of the shelf you’re filling, or choose the shelf from the list.

Scan stock labels one after another

Scan the stock label of each card you put on the shelf. To move on to another shelf, scan that shelf’s label.

Record and finish

When you’re done, tap 終了 (Finish) and choose 記録して終了 (Record and finish).

Each scan’s result is shown on screen and by vibration. A card moved from Receiving onto a shelf is Put away; a card moved from another shelf at the same site is Moved. A card already on that shelf is In place. Unknown labels, stock from another site and similar cases are Rejected and go to Needs action in the console.

Scanning the same label twice in a session counts once; the second scan shows 読み取り済み(重複) (already scanned). Scans are saved even without a signal and sent automatically once you’re back online.

The app also handles receiving site transfers, stock counts and picking for outbound orders. Its stock tab shows the same stock as the console.

Check putaway progress

The Putaway tab in Inventory shows putaway for each site. Across the top are counts of units awaiting putaway, put away today, without labels and to reprint. Below are the tabs Needs action, Print batches, Sessions today and Staff today.

  • Print batches shows how many units from each batch are on a shelf. Use Reprint remaining to print again any labels that haven’t been put away.
  • Needs reprint marks units whose card details were corrected after the label was printed. The label is out of date, so print a new one and replace it.

Clear items that need action

Scans the app rejected are grouped by reason under Needs action. Clear them with the action that fits.

Action When to use it
Mark as found here A unit marked as lost turned up on this shelf
Receive here A unit in transit to this site was scanned
Create transfer Stock belonging to another site was found at this one
Dismiss A misread, another shop’s label, or anything else that needs no action

Select several rows to apply the same action to all of them.
