Buy rates
How to set the rate applied to market prices, price-range rules, rounding, and the amount above which quotes need a review.
A buy rate is the percentage of a card’s market price that you pay for it. When you click Apply store buy rates during an appraisal, the rates set here fill in the amounts. Set them under Settings › Buy rates. Only owners and admins can change them.
How a buy price is worked out
An appraisal amount is the card’s reference market price multiplied by the buy rate, then rounded. For example, a card with a market price of ¥10,000 at an 80% rate is appraised at ¥8,000.
The rate is chosen like this:
- Enabled price-range rules are checked in order, lowest number first. If the market price falls inside a rule’s range, that rule’s buy rate is used.
- If no rule matches, the Default buy rate is used.
Basic settings
Set these three at the top of the page.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Default buy rate | The rate for cards no rule matches. 0–100%, up to 2 decimal places |
| Box, pack & deck rate | The rate for sealed products. Leave it blank to use Same as default |
| Default grade for single cards | The grade selected first when a card is added to an appraisal. Can also be None (choose each time) |
Advanced settings
Open Advanced settings at the bottom of the page for the following.
Buy rate rules
To use different rates for different price ranges, click Add rule. Each rule has a Minimum price (¥), Maximum price (¥) and Buy rate (%). Both the minimum and maximum are included in the range. A blank side has no limit.
Rules are listed by number, and a switch turns each one on or off. Remove a rule you no longer need with Delete rule.
Rounding
Choose how to handle fractions in appraisal amounts: Round down, Round up, Round to nearest or Don’t round. Then choose the unit: ¥1, ¥10, ¥100 or ¥1,000.
Review threshold
Cards appraised at or above this amount need a review before the quote goes out. At ¥0, every card needs a review. The review process is covered in Research and reviews.
Lookback period
Choose how far back, from 1 to 121 months, market price records are used when judging a card’s market price.
